Silent Witness Clip Analysis

I will be analyzing briefly a clip from the popular drama series “Silent Witness” (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00dzz2b/Silent_Witness_Series_12_Terror_Part_1/) looking into and explaining the action codes and the equilibrium, disequilibrium, and the new equilibrium and then using examples to back this up.

Equilibrium:
In the start of the clip it shows and constantly switches between two different scenes one being a Muslim girl who is ready to pray the other being a police force that are getting ready for a raid, I could tell this as guns and body armor are used as action codes so this would contrast each other as a positive religious action is compared with a negative violent police raid but are both preparing for a big moment and was shown to build up tension and this could mean in a broader sense introducing both sides of the story and then continuing to link them while the episode continues, both of these action codes together paints a picture in the viewers heads and picks out a topic of terrorism, as Islam and heavily armed police typically symbolize the word.

Disequilibrium:
As the clip goes on so do the police force approach towards they’re big moment, the women bows (a part of the Islamic prayer) and the police bust in one moment this would be a “disturbing the peace” type of moment where the trouble begins and the story starts to make sense as both stories start to join and a terrorist is pointed out and arrested and then his investigation begins

New equilibrium
The terrorist is proven not guilty and the police let him go this would be a moment where the new equilibrium is introduced.
